Mumbai-based Vazirani Automotive has unveiled their first turbine-electric hypercar concept, the Shul, in India. The Vazirani Shul (pronounced 'Shool') was first showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held earlier this year.

The turbine-electric hypercar concept has been created by designer and co-founder Chunky Vazirani. He has previously been a part of Jaguar, Land Rover and Rolls Royce.

The Vazirani Shul makes use of a lightweight chassis along with a generous amount of carbon-fibre (including the main tub). It features an edgy-styling as well as a functional aero, after being designed in a wind tunnel with inputs from the Force India Formula One Team and Michelin Tyres.

Being an electric-hypercar, the Shul is expected to offer blistering performance, without compromising too much on the range. The car comes with an electric motor on each wheel, essentially making it an all-wheel-drive product. The hypercar comes with a single-ratio gearbox, with a wide power band, thus, removing the need for a second-cog.

The car also comes with lightweight battery packs, positioned behind the passenger and central tunnel. The battery packs weigh in at just 300kg and are placed in a manner which allows optimal weight distribution.

The Vazirani Shul also comes with a micro-turbine on the car. Whenever required, the micro-turbine further starts up to charge the battery packs on the go. This further provides an extended range compared to other standard electric vehicles. Once the car goes into production, the Shul will be the first car to use a turbine-electric powertrain system.

Being an electric hypercar, the need for charging on the go is an important feature. This not only ensures a blistering performance figure but also, helps keep the batteries charged up at all times.

The Shul has been seen sporting Michelin tyres and Brembo brakes, showcasing the priority given towards the car's handling. The company has stated the Shul will offer a more engaging driving experience, rather an outright acceleration and top speed. Although, no technical specifications of the car has been unveiled yet.
